Overview
The RollCall iFrame allows you to display the most up to date information on your active routes on a web page. You can choose where to place the iFrame on your website, including in a secure location accessible only to staff or parents. Whenever an iframe activated route is updated by the admin team and saved, the new details will be transferred to the iFrame display.
iFrame is a great way to promote your routes or direct parents to check which route or stop is closest to their home.
IMPORTANT: At present you are only able to display routes in the AM and PM event groups. All other groups are hidden from the iFrame by default.
Instructions
- Turn on the iFrame option for each route to display
- Navigate to the Route Settings Screen
- Select the Action Button for the route to edit
- Select the Edit Route tab
- Add a checkmark to the "in iFrame" checkbox
- Select the "Embed iFrame" button at the top of the Route Settings screen to copy the iFrame code or send the instructions to your webmaster
- Let parents know where they can view your iFrame
Copy the URL address for your iFrame from the embed code text and include it as a link to the iFrame map in any of your electronic communications.
IFrame web link from the code above would be
https://rollcalltestingcollege.v2.rollcall.com.au/go-to-route?school=rollcalltestingcollege
This link will open the map directly in the default browser.
Try to include a reference to the route name they belong to in your Stop Names. This way iFrame users can easily identify which route their stop belongs to. If you don't have a reference to the route name, then colour coding is essential. Stops can then be linked to their routes by matching colours
EXAMPLES:
Park Rd & John St, Smithville on the Centenary Park (CP) route
Stop name = "CP - Park Rd & John St, Smithville"
Park Rd & Smith St, Jonestown on the Blue route
Stop name = "BLUE - Park Rd & Smith St, Jonestown"
