Connecting your Student contact data to RollCall

At RollCall, we make it easy for schools to keep updated student and parent contact information in RollCall by securely accessing the student and parent contact information already stored in your Student Management System (SMS).
This ensures that RollCall always has accurate information about who should be using the bus services and how to contact families when needed.

Here’s a simple overview of how it works:


How We Access Student and Parent Information

Depending on the Student Management System your school uses, RollCall connects via one of three methods:


1. Via Wonde Integration (For Multiple Systems)

  • What is Wonde?
    Wonde is a secure third-party service that connects to over 35 different Student Management Systems.

  • How RollCall uses Wonde:
    If your SMS is supported by Wonde (e.g., Edumate, Engage, or others), we connect via Wonde’s secure platform to retrieve approved student and parent contact information.

  • Benefits:

    • Minimal setup for your IT team.

    • Wonde standardizes the data, making integration fast and consistent.

  • Security:
    You control the data access by approving exactly what RollCall can retrieve.

2. Direct TASS Integration

  • What is TASS?
    TASS (The Alpha School System) is a comprehensive school management system used by many Australian schools.

  • How RollCall uses TASS:
    We connect directly to TASS’s secure APIs to gather the student contact details your school authorizes us to access.

  • Benefits:

    • Direct connection ensures real-time updates.

    • Data fields can include students' contact details, emergency contacts, and communication preferences.

  • Security:
    TASS’s role-based security settings ensure that only approved data is shared.

3. Direct Sentral Integration:

  • What is Sentral?
    Sentral is another leading SMS platform for Australian schools.

  • How RollCall uses Sentral:
    We connect via Sentral’s API to securely pull necessary student and parent contact information.

  • Benefits:

    • Supports ongoing synchronization.

    • Helps keep your bus passenger lists automatically updated.

  • Security:
    Access is tightly controlled through your school’s Sentral permissions.


What Happens After We Connect:

  1. Approval:
    Your school gives RollCall permission to access student and parent contact data.

  2. Data Sync:
    RollCall regularly syncs data so your private bus service lists are always accurate and up-to-date. 

  3. Management:
    Staff are no longer required to maintain student and parent data manually, instead they will see recent changes in RollCall, and can easily:

    • See who should be on which bus.

    • Contact parents immediately if needed.

    • Manage changes to bus usage effortlessly.
