How to Add and Edit a Route

Create a route, enter the bus details, and configure the driver settings.

Manage your routes in Settings → Routes. When adding a route, you can set its name, group, bus company, capacity, colour, and driver options.

Quick path: Settings → Routes → Add

Add a new route

  1. Open the Routes form.

Go to Settings, select Routes, then select Add at the top right.

  2. Enter the route name.

Enter the name in Event name. We recommend starting with AM or PM, followed by a dash and the route name. For example: AM - Box Hill.

  3. Choose the route group and bus company.

Select the appropriate Route group, which is the event group. In Company, select your bus company.

  4. Set the event type, capacity, and colour.

For most routes, select Transport as the Event type. Enter the capacity of your bus in Capacity and choose an Event colour.

  5. Configure Group off / Bulk off.

This option allows the driver to scan off all children on the route together. It is recommended for AM routes, but not for PM routes.

  6. Configure Multiple devices.

Enable Multiple devices if multiple drivers need to be signed in to the same route at the same time. This can be useful for excursions.

  7. Configure Approve not allocated.

When Approve not allocated is enabled, the driver will not see a confirmation box when a child does not have a booking. When it is unticked, the driver will see a confirmation asking whether to allow the child on.

  8. Set visibility in SmartRoute.

Use InSmartRoute to control whether the route can be seen in SmartRoute.

  9. Review the remaining options.

Review Active and In iframe before saving.

  10. Save the route.

    Select Save.
