The Assign Students tab in Route Builder has been updated to make assigning students clearer and reduce duplicate bookings.
1. Bus Dates Are Required Before Assigning Students
If a route has no future bus dates scheduled, the Assign Students tab will display a blocking message.
Students cannot be assigned until future bus dates are added.
Use Go to Bus Dates to schedule dates, then return to Assign Students.
2. View the Route Schedule While Assigning
The Bus Date Overview panel appears at the top of the Assign Students tab.
It shows a heatmap of when the route runs across the year so you can quickly confirm the schedule while assigning students.
The panel can be collapsed if needed.
3. Assign Students to Stops
The page is split into two panels:
Unassigned Students on the left
Route Stops on the right
Students move from the Unassigned list into stops when assigned.

4. Choose How to Assign Students
Two assignment modes are available:
Drag & Drop – drag students onto a stop (default)
Click to Assign – select students and click a stop

5. Using Click-to-Assign
Click-to-Assign allows faster assignment when working with multiple students.
You can either:
Student-first
Select one or more students
Click a stop
Stop-first
Click a stop
Click students to add them
Students appear under the stop immediately.

6. See Students Already Booked
Enable Show Booked Students to view students already booked on the route.
Booked students:
appear under stops
show a Booked badge
cannot be edited or moved
This helps avoid duplicate bookings.

7. Save the Booking
Once students are assigned, click Save Booking.
You will then:
choose the repeat frequency
select the days of the week
set the start and end dates
After confirming, the system creates the booking and opens the Transport tab to show the result.

Note: • It may take some time to load, please DO NOT exit or refresh the page
• Use the Transport Screen to check allocations are correct
