How to use Stop Guardian

Compare student scan locations with your bus stops and adjust stop locations where needed.

Stop Guardian shows where students scan on and off in relation to your bus stops and their geofences. Use it to check whether recorded stop locations match the places students actually board and leave the bus, helping your school maintain accurate route location data.

Stop Guardian is a useful tool to help reduce Off Stop and Wrong Stop exceptions shown on your Transport Screen.

Quick path: Settings → Routes → Actions → Stop Guardian

Open Stop Guardian

  1. Go to Settings → Routes.
  2. Select Actions for the route you want to review.
  3. Select Stop Guardian.
  4. Select the relevant date range.

Keep the date range short. Choose a period with a small amount of scan data, as recommended in the Stop Guardian guide.

Colour indications

Compare the scan locations with the listed stops and the geofences around them.

Scan On/OffSuccessful Scan● Green circle
Scan On/OffWrong Stop● Purple circle

If scans are far from a listed stop

Check whether a new stop is needed or whether students should use the registered stop. You can:

  • Create a new stop where the scans have been occurring, if this is the location to be used.
  • Remind the family and bus driver where the registered stop is located.

If scans are close to a stop but outside it

You can adjust the recorded stop location to match the correct location:

  1. Drag and drop the stop to the correct location.
  2. Select Save.
