Overview
Drivers can manually add students to their route directly from the Driver App.
This is typically used when:
A student is travelling without a booking
A student forgets to scan on
A casual traveller needs to be added to the manifest
Once added, the student will appear on the transport screen with relevant exceptions.
Step 1: Open the Driver App
Open the RollCall Driver App
Enter your:
Phone number
PIN
Log in
Step 2: Select a Route
Choose the route you are driving
Step 3: Open the Menu
Tap the three horizontal lines (menu icon)
Select the 4th option: Add Students
Step 4: Find the Student
In the Add Students screen:
You will see a list of all active students
Each student includes:
Student name
Student number
Grade
To search:
Use the search bar at the top
Type the student’s name
Step 5: Select the Student
Tap the checkbox on the left-hand side of the student’s name
A green tick will appear to confirm selection
You can select one or multiple students if needed.
Step 6: Confirm and Add
Tap the Confirm button at the bottom of the screen
Result:
The student is automatically scanned onto the bus
The student is added to the manifest for the day
The student will show as No Stop Allocated
What You Will See on the Transport Screen
Once added, the student will appear with one or more exceptions, such as:
No Card
No Card Scan On
Not Allocated
Casual Traveller (if applicable)
Important Notes
Students added this way are not assigned to a stop
They are treated as exceptions on the route
This process ensures visibility and tracking even without a booking
Final Result
After completing this process:
The student is added to the route manifest
The student is visible on the transport screen
Any missing booking or scan information is flagged as exceptions
If you want, I can turn this into a Driver-facing version (simpler language, fewer system terms) vs an Admin training version — they usually land quite differently depending on the audience ?
